The fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15) took place from 7 to 19 December in Montreal, Canada. The COP15 resulted in a groundbreaking agreement on the Global Biodiversity Framework. Mirova followed the negotiations closely, and part of our teams were on site to participate in side-events and discuss our approach to biodiversity overall and more specifically our natural capital platform.
Ten years ago, we chose the name Mirova in reference to Mirovia, a hypothetical ocean that surrounded the supercontinent of Rodinia almost 1,000 million years ago. The $US 9.5 million investment will help Komaza to scale operations in Kenya.
Mirova announces the 10th investment of its sustainable land use strategy, aimed at supporting the development of Aqre Group, a leading producer of natural ingredients for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food and beverage industry. The $US 10 million investment will specifically allow the implementation of sustainable land management practices in Madagascar in partnership with thousands of smallholder farmers.
